Do you still ride a tricycle?

May 11, 2017 by LeRoy Miller Leave a Comment

For most of us over 5 or 6 years old, the answer would be no.  But that is not the correct answer for everyone.

In the Philippines, a tricycle is a convenient way to get around or across town.  Now admittedly their term for tricycle is different than what comes to mind.

It is not these –

Nor is it this, but getting closer –

This is a bicycle, a bicycle with a sidecar built out of wood and concrete rebar to serve as a pedal cab.

Here we go.  There seems to be no limit to the number of people or materials that a tricycle can haul.   It is interesting to listen because it seems that they rarely get out of first gear, and that is with a groan.

I have a short video clip that I took while riding in one in Sindangan.  Enjoy
