There have been a series of break-ins in the village and close by. Some of these have occurred while the people were asleep.
Inday was telling me that some of the people have been telling her that they think that whoever is doing this must have some special power because they sleep through the intrusion. I couldn’t talk, or rather chat, long enough to see if there was a reason that they think it is someone different than the neighbor man that was seen climbing into the children’s home to steal supplies in the past.
You will recall, I had sent a substantial supply of food to the children’s home a couple years ago. Inday had to go to the market for fresh food a couple days later. When she came back, a neighbor told her that one of the other neighbors had climbed up and gotten in the unfinished end of the house. When he came out the door, he had a large quantity of supplies with him.
Inday went to check the inventory and found that he had carried away the best and most expensive items that had been sent. When she asked for the items back, he threatened her if she was to pursue it, so she dropped the matter.
Since then, she gets supplies a week at a time so that there is less to lose. She locks up the valuables, like the laptop etc. in a room that she has secured with heavy duty locks. Securing the house is one of the items on our project list.
